October Horror Movie Challenge- Day 12

The first film of the day was It! (1967) starring the always great Roddy McDowell as a downtrodden assistant museum curator who goes mad(der) with power when he becomes the controller of the ancient Golem of Prague. It! was a lot of fun, mostly due to the terrific performance by McDowell. The movie played out like a classic Hammer film and was a nice change of pace from some of the other stuff I've been watching lately. 8 out of 12 beers.

I then put on Shakma (1990), completely unaware that Roddy McDowell was featured in it as well. I don't really know what to say about Shakma. It concerns a group of students staging a live-action fantasy RPG in a medical facility after hours. Shakma, a crazed baboon, escapes during their game and takes them out one by one. If watching a baboon freak out on people is your idea of a good time (and why wouldn't it be?), then Shakma is definitely worth checking out. I enjoyed the heck out of it. The baboon scenes are definitely the highlight, the rest of the movie is pretty uninteresting. 7 out of 12 beers.
